I’ve had quite the on and off (and on again) struggle with my skin over the past 6 months – “thanks, life!” I self diagnosed it as milia and hormonal acne (ick I hate that word!). Right in the midst of my search for a cure (pun intended!), I was contacted by Curology to give their unique service and product a try … and of course I accepted with great enthusiasm! Read on to get all the “Sweet Deets” on Curology!
Curology: Customized Skincare & Solutions for Acne
What is Curology?
Curology is a reasonably priced, monthly subscription service (based online) that provides custom made medical grade skincare products to treat what ever ails your skin.
How does it work?
It’s all based online … which is great, because: a) I hate making appointments; and b) I don’t love to leave the house if I don’t have to … ya feel me?!
Here’s the gist of it:
Step 1: Visit their website & enter your e-mail to claim your One Month Free Trial (only pay $4.95 for shipping) through my special link that they are offering to my readers – http://curolo.gy/sweetinspovation
Step 2: Take the “Skin Goals” questionnaire and submit your “Before” photos.
Step 3: Wait to be matched with a licensed dermatology provider that will message you their findings, proposed treatment plan and formulation (like mine below).
Easy, right?! It really is. If you have any issues, there is a chat assistant and their email customer service is reasonably responsive.
My Curology Prescribed Formulation Explained
I think it’s so great that they blend multiple ingredients to come up with the best solution for your skin. I’ve visited a dermatologist in the past and it was always one tube of one cream and that’s it. Below is what my provider started me out on and here are the descriptions of what each ingredient is for:
The world’s best ingredient to treat and prevent wrinkles, stimulate collagen growth and fight acne. Yes, please!
Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory with powerful effects against acne-causing bacteria. Heck yes!
Fights dark spots in addition to its antibacterial, anti-fungal and pore-unclogging properties. Need it!
What are the Pros and Cons?
- Free One Month Trial —> http://curolo.gy/sweetinspovation
- Online Access to Medical provider
- Custom made product just for your skin concerns
- Simplifies your skincare routine
- Use only once a day, at night
- Communicate with your provider via email and photos
- Formula can be adjusted throughout your skincare journey
- Auto shipment
- Noticed improvement within weeks (results may vary)
- The pump on the packaging isn’t very consistent.
- Can’t see how much product is left.
- Does not have a gel based option for those that don’t like creams.
Clearly there are more “Pros” than “Cons”!
Who is Curology for?
It’s not just geared towards those that suffer from acne, which is what I had initially thought. It benefits the following skin concerns:
- Clogged Pores
- Dark Spots
- Skin Texture
Again, I think Curology is perfect for anyone that does not have the time or means to visit a Dermatologist. They can be very expensive, not all insurance will cover them and it can be really difficult to get a visit with one when you need to, especially on an “emergency” basis.
How much does it cost?
First off, it’s cheaper than a dermatologist visit & prescription, as I have been down that “expensive, no answer, dead-end road before!”
As I mentioned above, you can follow this link http://curolo.gy/sweetinspovation to get your One Month Free Trial, just pay $4.95 for shipping! To me this is so worth it, because after one month I saw significant results and improvement in my skin (see the before & after photos below)!
If you decide to continue with Curology, like I did, you can choose between the two plan options below. I went with the 2-Month Bottle plan!
Does it work? Before & After Photos (2 Weeks & 1 Month)!
Two Week Curology Progress
I was quite impressed even just after two weeks! Even though the lighting is off between these pics, you can tell that where I had raised acne was no longer inflamed and it had flattened out and was beginning to heal. The acne had definitely left behind scarring (I scar so dang easily nowadays), so I’m glad my formulation also addresses that concern of mine!
One Month Curology Progress
These one month before & after photos really impressed me and made me a believer in Curology! I love how it has evened out my skin tone and diminished most of the redness in my complexion. At this point, I had absolutely no active acne bumps OR clogged pores … and that is seriously unheard of with my skin no matter what I have used in the past. Also, the scarring has really begun to fade away and that is really important to me!
Note: It is important to note that you may need to continue use of the product even though your skin has improved. I had almost a two week hiatus waiting for my next bottle (to the fault of my own) and blemishes slowly started appearing, but no where to the point it was at on day one. My provider said to me in the beginning that the underlying issue of my acne may be the brand of birth control I was on. I took her advice and recently had it changed to one that they recommended (Ortho Tri Cyclen), so I hope to see improvement in my skin that way and possibly use the Curology cream every other day instead of every day.
Is it Sweet Inspo Approved?
Heck yes it is! I’m thoroughly impressed with Curology and the services that they provide! It has absolutely changed my skin for the better and I couldn’t be more thankful! Obviously the product is great and provides desired results, but the customer service and expertise that the providers conveniently provide over the internet is absolutely worth the reasonable price you pay for Curology. I highly recommend giving this a try if you are having similar skin issues!
